Hetty Feather By Jacqueline Wilson

Its 1876 and Hetty has just been dropped of by her mother at the foundling hospital, she is less than a month old. There is screaming babies, crying mothers and nurses trying to make them all be quiet around her. She is one of these crying babies but she can't see her mother. A week later she is picked up from her sack they call a bed and she is taken outside to the freezing cold at 1 o'clock. She is sent to a family until she is 5.

But as she gets older she wonders more about her real mother. But she starts to think it is suspicious when her older brother is taken away in the middle of the night. Then a week after her 5th birthday her and her brother Gideon are taken back to the foundling hospital.

When she gets there it all comes back to her and there are so many rules she has to follow. Also there is the worst thing she can't be with Gideon and there is the evil matron.

This book shows us how hard it was in the 18 hundreds and it is funny as Hetty doesn't follow any of the rules and she always makes fun of matron.
I would give this book 5 stars out of 5.

Lucky Star By Cathy Cassidy

I love this book it is so funny and interesting. Mouse is one of the baddest boys and he has just been given he last chance at school, but that all goes wrong when he meets the goody-2-shoes Cat because she is trying her hardest to get into trouble. Throughout the story Cat teaches Mouse the importance of friendship and other people. But instead of helping Mouse Cat breaks his heart and gets him into serious trouble at the same time. This a very heart-warming story and it is good for girls 10+. This is one of my favourite books by Cathy Cassidy because it is written from the point of view of a boy. This makes you not know what is going to happen so it builds up the story. I would give this book a ***** star rating because it is so good. Little Darlings by Jacqueline Wilson

Little Darlings is about two very different girls, but they discover they have something very big in conman.
Destiny lives on a run down estate with her mum. They have no money, but they have a very big secret. Destiny is one of the most famous singer Danny Kilman's daughter but only her and her mum know. Danny doesn't even know as he left Destiny's mum.
Sunset is also Danny's daughter but she lives with him and is famous, she gets designer clothes but all she wants to do is be normal. When Sunset and Destiny meet at a movie premiere they try and find how they can get their dad to believe Destiny is his daughter. They grow very good friends and try to prove they are really sisters. While Destiny has to try and win her talent show and Sunset has to try and look after her little brother and sister and stop her mum and dad fighting.
I really like this book as it is funny and makes you realise the importance of friendship. This book is for girls over the age of 9. I would give this book a 4 star rating as it is really good and interesting.

My Sister's Keeper By Jodi Picoult

I'm currently reading My Sister's Keeper it is very sad and very interesting.
It is all about a girl called Kate who at the age of 4 is diagnosed with leukemia this makes her parents fight for Kate's life. But then they decide to have another child who has been made to have the exact same DNA as Kate so she can save her sister's life. But by the time Anna (Kate's sister) is 13 and her parents want her to give her Kidney to her sister. So she sues her parents to the right to her own body. This makes everyone confused and makes Anna have to move out so her mum can't make her change her mind. This book is really good and makes you want to read on and I can never put the book down.
My favourite character is Anna because she is so strong and caring for her family even though she sues them.
I would give this book a 5 star rating because you can feel everything the characters are feeling.
